How does the bag get into the box?

How does the bag get into the box?

"How do we get a bulky and heavy plastic bag cooled and then into the box?"
This was the request of one of our customers. We were able to present the customer with a coherent concept and together we successfully implemented it.

The 2.5 kg plastic bags, filled with still liquid bee feed, are transferred from the filler to our conveying system in two lanes. After the products have been weighed, they are transferred to one of our proven Spiral Flow Cooling Systems. While passing through the cooling system, the products are blown with cold air and cooled down to 25°C.

The next step is the alignment and packing of the bags into cartons. The bags are detected by a camera with position and orientation on the conveyor chain. This data is received by a SCARA robot (horizontal jointed-arm robot), which grips the product by means of vacuum suction pads, aligns it and precisely places five bags at a time in the carton provided by an upstream carton erector.

The filled cartons then pass through a carton sealer, a metal detector, a labeler, and a checkweigher integrated into the mat conveyor before being gripped and palletized by a six-axis robot. The empty pallets are provided by a pallet magazine and conveyed by a pallet transport system into the robotic cell and up to the removal point. Here, the filled pallet can then be taken over by the logistics system.

Thanks to the individual components, which are interconnected via a line control system, we were able to coordinate all handling tasks and respond optimally in the event of a malfunction. This increased the effectiveness of the entire line and eliminated physically stressful workplaces. To ensure the safety of the operators in the vicinity of the robots, safety technology was selected that allows safe and fast access to all points of the line.
